NorCal Premier League / NorCal State Cup Central Marin Soccer Club teams participate in the NorCal Playing League for league play. League play formats are different for each age group and flight of league play, depending on the number of teams participating in the league flight. In addition, many age groups play in supplemental round-robin play within their league flight, and may participate in a "champions league" round-robin of inter-regional teams. You can get all info regarding league play from the NorCal premier site, but since the formats vary between age groups and flights, CMSC put together a FAQ discussing questions surrounding league play.
Gold Division teams participate in the NorCal State Cup, as do many Silver Division Teams. State Cup competition involves several preliminary rounds of round-robin play. Teams are slotted in their initial flights after being seeded by NorCal. After completing preliminary play, teams are re-seeded based on preliminary round results and play continues. Ultimately, through the results of the prelimary and second round matches, teams are re-seeded and classified into groupings of "like" teams. For many new to this format it can be confusing. That's why we put together this FAQ to address the many questions surrounding the NorCal State Cup!
